It's Friday, yet another week has flown in, and it's truely feeling like Autumn now.
I wasn't really prepared for the heart warming feeling you get when harvesting from the garden, it really is quite magical. We had our first carrots tonight, along with some peas (we've had a bumper crop of them this year) and some broccoli. It always amazes me how the simplest things in life can make you so happy.
I'm loving going for peaceful evening walks, enjoying the last of the sun low in the sky.
Lighting the fires, the smell of the wood.
It's our wedding anniversary this weekend, 7 years, where has that time gone? We're both happy and settled and enjoying the peace.
Have a good weekend.

Your carrots are very beautifully straight and uniform! We've been eating them for a while but have quite a variety of shapes and sizes! Not that Bob the bunny minds as he gets all the odd ones!
Hi Lisa
Happy Anniversary.
How lovely to be harvesting your own veggies. At least yours look like carrots. I have seen carrots at the market and I am not kidding when I say they are bigger than cucumbers!!! I had a conversation with my greengrocer about them this morning (they are sold as juice by another vendor) and he says that they come from China...enough said!
Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.

Happy anniversary. 7 years, how wonderful!
Your crop looks so yummy. Peas really have been the best crop this year - all that rain! I love popping them out and eating them raw.

The veggie garden has been fab this year, and yes, Friday nights supper was very tasty! The home grown goodies were accompanying pork chops with cider, cream and mustard sauce along with a rather large dollop of herby mash potatoes, yum!
Thanks for all the anniversary good wishes, we had a lovely day.

Hurrah for being married and happy anniversary - it does sound like you've found your place and are very happy :)
One of my favourite things is to harvest potatoes - it's having to find them, digging for a while to find one more elusive little thing. Heaven!
The weather did for my carrots this year - only 2 survived, so I am looking longingly at yours. I bet they taste as good as they look too.
What a beautiful photo of your carrots... I just love carrots with their sweet taste, and they are delicious in so many ways... Happy Autumn to you...
Smiles...

Happy anniversary! I can't wait to light the fire, it's not quite cold enough yet, but the logs are on order so we're ready to go!

There is nothing nicer than picking and cooking your homegrown veg, we haven't got that far in our renovation of our barn but some of our neighbours often turnup with excess veg that they have grown. yummy, I came across your blog whilst reading cupcakes at home and will definitely visit you again to read about your life in scotland.

|All our peas have gone now, and the carrots from outside. We are now eating our second crop of carrots grown in the polytunnel. It's so wonderful to go into the garden like today and pull up swede carrot etc.. for a lovely beef casserole for tea. Autumn food here we come ! ~ love Julia x
